GSA Federal Supply Service (FSS)/FTS)
provides federal customers with the products, services and programs to meet their business needs. FSS serves the federal community as a source for business, administrative and mission solutions.

Objectives
The main objectives of this study was to gain
insight into the needs of Network Services, FEDSIM and OIS customers for the products and services of the Federal Technology Service (FTS). It was important to understand customers’ future needs in order to prepare for upcoming product and service
development needs.
  Process
The process involved telephone surveys with federal government customers who were primarily decision-makers, IT managers and purchasers. Identification of current
satisfaction and future needs formed key components of inquiry.

Results
The results identified three major areas for programmatic initiatives to better meet current needs and prepare for fulfilling future product and service needs.

The results were used to enhance client awareness, satisfaction and usage of FTS in the following areas:

  • Marketing and awareness of the range of products available.

  • Enhance technical training and planning skills.

  • Telecommunications, e-commerce and intranet support.
